The Industrial Sustainability and Competitiveness team aims to optimise three inherent elements of the manufacturing sector – energy use, resource use, and carbon emissions – to support the country's growth as well as sustainability aspirations. The focus is on improving the management and dissemination of energy, emissions, and productivity related statistics around industries; assessing information gaps and associated challenges; and informing climate negotiations on industrial sustainability. The team also supports strengthening the ecosystem for future-ready manufacturing with an emphasis on sustained value creation, securing critical resources, and minimising the environmental footprint.
