Shreya Kapoor
Senior Communications Associate
Shreya is an interdisciplinary communicator and digital strategist who brings coherence to messaging in a world saturated with noise. As Senior Communications Associate with CEEW's Outreach team, she shapes The Council's digital and narrative strategy, translating complex climate and energy research into content that is accessible without being diluted, and consistent across formats and audiences. She also supports senior leadership's digital communication, ensuring their voice is legible to the public conversations CEEW seeks to shape.
She writes and edits UpChart, CEEW's monthly data-led emailer, and Between The Lines, the institution's flagship newsletter—both built to make research findings readable at a glance without losing their rigour.
Shreya is also extending CEEW's climate storytelling beyond digital formats, most recently through an in-person storytelling session for college students at Sustaina India 3.0. She's building this into a wider offline practice—from classrooms to more unconventional public settings—taking climate communication out of the feed and into the room.
Prior to joining The Council, Shreya worked with UN Women as a Communications Assistant in their New Delhi Office. She managed UN Women India’s social media presence, revamped the Generation Equality Allyship Programme and worked to shape “हम – When Women Lead”, a coffee-table book profiling 75 women leaders across India. She began her career as an intern on Greenpeace India’s Campaigns and Communications team, working on their Urban Mobility campaign.
Shreya has roots in both media and policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication & Media, English, and Psychology from CHRIST University, Bengaluru, and a Master’s in Society and Culture from IIT Gandhinagar, where her research examined how gender functions within scientific institutions like IITs. A Bengaluru hudugi navigating Delhi, she still measures every city she visits against the one she grew up in—and is usually plotting the next trip to close the distance.
